A Shopify app extension adds extra functionality to your store by integrating features from apps. These extensions can significantly enhance your store’s performance and user experience in various ways:
- App Blocks: Enable you to place app functionality directly within your theme. With the theme editor, you can easily add, remove, or customize these blocks to suit your needs.
- App Embeds: Allow apps to add elements like floating components or overlays to your theme, or insert code into your store without being visible to customers.
- POS UI Extensions: Improve the retail experience on Shopify POS by letting apps add additional features to various interfaces within the POS system.
AccessibilityWay's App Extension ensures that the widget and customizations function properly in your store.
If the App Extension is not enabled, a banner will appear in the AccessibilityWay App Dashboard:
There are two ways to enable it:
- By clicking the "Continue" button in the banner.
- It will redirect you to your Theme Editor and automatically enable the App Extension.
- Just click "Save" and you're done. Return to the app.
- It will redirect you to your Theme Editor and automatically enable the App Extension.
- By manually enabling it.
- In your Shopify Admin Dashboard, go to Online Store and then Themes.
- Find your current theme and click Customize. It will take you to the Theme editor.
- Go to App Embeds.
- Look for the "Accessibility Widget" app extension.
- Finally, click Save and then return to the app.
- In your Shopify Admin Dashboard, go to Online Store and then Themes.
That's it! You should be good to go.
